Difficulties of social media marketing for startups


Stretch is a startup in London. There are many startups not only in London but also worldwide, that means we, startups, cannot ignore social media for growing our business. When you use social media as a marketing channel, however, there are some points to consider in operation.

First, you have to manage a variety of social media at the same time. As you know, there are many services, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and so on. These are all different formats and also for different targets. We’ve already know the characters of these services, yet, don’t know how to optimise.

The second point is content design or, what to post as contents. Startups don’t have big news every day, and founders are too busy o keep posting on social media when just beginning their new business. Our common mistake, for example, is working so intensively and forgetting to take pictures of the process for posting on social media.

Finally, social media marketing needs followers, but just setting up an account doesn’t make many fans. Founders have to care about their followers, hoping that it is automatically growing the number of them in some way. However, as you know, it will never easily happen.
